Virtual Equality

In September 2017, the Australian Government announced a postal ballot asking the nation to vote ‘YES or ‘NO’ for the legalisation of same-sex marriage. We wanted to inspire Australians to vote yes by letting them experience all of the love and joy of a legal same-sex wedding. But the only way that was possible in Australia, was through Virtual Reality. 

We filmed the legal wedding of Dan and Thomas through 360 in NZ, taking the experience to Australia through a VR activation. The campaign included an online film and DM featuring Google Cardboard, and went on to receive international recognition including a Silver Cannes Lion in the category of VR and AR.
